Humanitarian aid has been crucial to the survival of many Bosnians, with the UN playing a vital role in distributing relief. Its Inter-Agency Appeal raised $696 million in the first half of 1994, mainly for Bosnian Muslim refugees, but also for those in Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Croatia.
